One School, One Book
One School, One Book is a literacy program designed to help an entire school community – kids and grown-ups alike – fall in love with books. The program enhances literacy skills and generates excitement while bringing the school community together.
On January 14th, all students at the Wyomissing Hills Elementary School received their books! This year’s book selection is The Wild Robot. Students, family members and school staff are reading the book at home and discuss robot “Roz” who opens her eyes for the first time and discovers that she is alone on a remote, wild island. Students have been creating robots in their classes using various media, seen in these photos. The school is abuzz with excitement about this program, thanks to a grant from WAEF!
