ABOUT waef
Wyomissing Area Education Foundation (WAEF) was formed in 1995 by a group of residents from West Reading, Wyomissing and Wyomissing Hills. These founders envisioned the Foundation as a vehicle for channeling private dollars and support into a broad range of programs for students and residents of the Wyomissing Area School District.

In the years since its formation, the Wyomissing Area Education Foundation has seen its support base grow to over 1,000 individuals and businesses contributing to support our grants and scholarship programs.
WAEF Grants and Scholarships have provided an avenue to respond to the needs of the district. WAEF grant proposals are faculty-initiated and reviewed by the Grants & Scholarships Committee to ensure that educational impact of the contributions is maximized.

Private and business donations as well as EITC program funding support ongoing grant requests and scholarships. Since our founding, WAEF has provided over $520,000 in grant awards to Wyomissing Area’s three campuses: the Wyomissing Hills Elementary Center (grades K – 4), the West Reading Elementary Center (grades 5-6), and the Wyomissing Area Junior Senior High School (grades 7 – 12). Through the support of our generous donors, WAEF has been able to support new technology and innovative instruction in all classrooms throughout the district.

WAEF provides endowed grant and scholarship opportunities for students as well as other scholarship opportunities, including student scholarships for trade and technology education.

WAEF’s fundraising efforts consist of the Annual Campaign, The Toast events, support from area businesses via Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC), and privately endowed funds.
